Former Ruling Royal Houses
The German Empire consisted of several monarchies and three free cities (Hamburg, Bremen and Luebeck). The Imperial Family is the Prussian Royal Family. There were four Kingdoms, six Granddukedoms, five Dukedoms, and seven Principalities. Three of the dynasties are meanwhile extinct: Dukes of Saxon-Altenburg, Princes of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt and -Sondershausen. You can see the coats of arms under the chapter coulors. We present here some photos of the present heads of the Royal Families.
